The Tale of the Tavern —
Up through the War Years

Previous | NEXT: Tavern Photos 2

The tavern, run for many years by "Doc" O'Brien and his family, was a familiar watering-hole at the beach for decades, until it was finally demolished in 1970.

These photos, kindly provided by a member of the family, document everyday life at the beach during those years. They came with small captions, which have been deciphered as best as possible, and the pictures have been rearranged here to fit into a rough chronological order.
